What Book Should Read
R. Connell, Gender and power: Society, identity and gender policy.
Ravin Connell has been an unknown Russian reader for a long time.
A review of contemporary gender theories for the authorship of Robert Connell, which is all, can be found in the “Femergency of feminist texts”.
In 2015, however, three of its texts appear in Russian: the " Shadow " collection. Heterono-Rango ' s critics, the Guidar Institute, excerpts from the masculinity theory, the international higher education journal, the non-liberal management of Australian universities, and, finally, the New Literature Book of Gender and Power: Society, identity and gender policy (the author is now listed as Ravin Connell).
So why read this book? To open up ms. Connell.
She was born in Melbourne in 1944, under the name of Robert William Connell, in the '60s she first admitted to Laborists, then to New Levm, became a professor of sociology in the '70s and published a series of work on the class structure of Australian society. An analysis of class-general hierarchy (on Australian school research material) followed. Connell ' s international glory brought a book called Musculinity (1995).
At the same time, she was searching for her own gender identity: since the 1970s, she was almost unpublished under a man ' s name, although she had only been openly speaking as a trans-woman Connell since the 2000s. It is the most quoted Australian sociologist and one of the world ' s largest gender policy experts.
What is this " policy " on which it is based, who conducts it and what are the consequences? The responses are clear and consistent in the Gender and Power.
